Firsts in Boston & Massachusetts with James B. Healy
Because Boston is one of the oldest cities in the United States, and because Massachusetts is one of our first colonies, a lot of our nation's 'firsts' occurred here. For example, the first newspaper, the first automobile, the first chocolate factory, and many others. This presentation will list a number of firsts along with background information on the men and women involved in these firsts.

About James B. Healy
James B. Healy hails from upstate New York. After serving four years in the U.S. Navy and then graduating from Purdue University, he worked for a number of construction companies in the greater Chicago area. In 1985, he took a job as a supervisor for a Boston area steel fabricator and erector.
During that time, Mr. Healy used his Navy sea time and other experience to obtain a 100- ton merchant marine license. This led to the opportunity to join the founder of Boston Duck Tours when the company began operations in 1994. Until he retired in 2020, he served as the company's training and safety officer and, primarily, Boston Duck Tours history officer.
