Author Discussion: "The Story of My Mother's Rescue"
Bernice Lerner's book, All the Horrors of War, follows a high-ranking British medical officer and a teenager from the Hungarian provinces, as they navigate the final, brutal year of World War II. In this talk, Lerner will share the beginning and end of her protagonists' journeys. A discussion of the suffering of victims, the struggles of liberators who strove to save lives, and the human capacity for fortitude and redemption.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Bernice Lerner served as director of Boston University's Center for Character and Social Responsibility (where she is now a senior scholar), Bernice worked at Hebrew College—most recently as dean of adult learning. All told, she has more than twenty-five years of experience in the field of adult education. It has been her great privilege to create and implement innovative programs, lead productive teams, and work with outstanding faculty in the realms of philosophy, education, and Jewish studies.
